Ivybridge is a town in the South Hams area of Devon, England.
Ivybridge has a successful secondary school; Ivybridge Community College [1] that excels both within the national curriculum and extra-curricularly, notably in sporting performance in which it has also has a specialist school status and provides importance services to the local community.
Ivybridge was twinned with the Normandy town St Pierre sur Dives on June 26, 1972.

Ivybridge Community College is a large and successful Specialist Sports College that has recently been awarded a second Specialism in Science and Mathematics.
It is situated on the southern slopes of Dartmoor and draws students from a feeder area covering over 100 square miles of the South Hams.
Admission criteria are laid down by Devon County Council and because of the popularity of Ivybridge Community College, places are normally only offered to children in Categories 1 and 2 (although children in other categories sometimes succeed in gaining places later in the year).

Ivybridge Camera Club was formed in April 1982 on an ‘idea’ by one of our founder members, the late Bill Watson.
The club became affiliated to the Ivybridge Community Association in May 1982 and was known as the Ivybridge Community Association Photographic Society.
The club remained with the Ivybridge Community Association until 1989 when we became known as the ‘Ivybridge Camera Club’, although this was not formalised until much later, in 1997.

IVYBRIDGE is a large and respectable village, with many neat houses, picturesquely seated on the banks of the river Erme, where there is an ancient ivy mantled bridge, on the Plymouth and Exeter road, 11 miles E. by N. of the former, and 34 miles S.S.W. of the latter.
Sir F. Rogers, Bart., is lord of the manor of Ivybridge, which extends into Cornwood and Ermington parishes.
In that part of the village in the former parish, a Chapel of Ease was built by subscription in 1790, and in 1835 it was consecrated as a District Church.
