		Iwade is a small village three miles from Sittingbourne in Kent, it is made up of 355 older dwellings, with about 80 newly built dwellings occupied and 20 in the course of construction.

		It has taken 8 years to get any sort of planning,which was the main reason why the track withdrew from the League last time.A 3 day Public Enquiry was the result,with 5 years temporary planning granted,including only 5 Public Meetings for each of those 5 years.
		The track changed its name to Sittingbourne in 1995 and is registered with the council as Sittingbourne Speedway Club,simply because it is easier to find on a map and to lose its bad image with the Council.
		The track is basically the same as laid out by Ivor and Barry Thomas in 1970,the old Iwade Colts race jackets still exist to this day and are used from time to time.

		Apparently the people who had helped us so kindly at Yamato had realised that we still had to walk far, because after a short while a car pulled up behind us and they offered to take us to a hotel at Iwade.
