 General Information
Iwatsuki City, one of the most renowned towns for making Japanese Hina dolls, was absorbed into Saitama City on April 1, 2005.  It is already well positioned as a core-business city and is expected to grow to be a pivotal city that will lead a wide variety of activities in the Kanto Region.
The most convenient means of transportation from Tokyo Haneda Airport to the JR Omiya Station and the JR Saitama Shintoshin Station is by airport shuttle bus.  Taxi fare between Haneda and the Saitama area is excessively expensive because the trip is over 40 km.
The fares to the JR Urawa Station and to the JR Saitama Shin-toshin Station are 380 and 450 Yen, respectively (to Urawa: 21 minutes, to Saitama Shin-toshin: 26 minutes).
