Sorcerer's Place - Icewind Dale 2 Online Solution - Chapter 6: The Ilmater Ritual
When that is complete, we will have removed the taint of Iyachtu Xvim, and a great source of power and pride for Isair and Madae.
Note that there is no way to double-cross Xvim by completing the Ilmater ritual after forming an alliance with him; you will be stuck with the choice you have made.
Xvim is immune to magical damage, and highly resistant to fire and slashing damage.

FIST OF ORDER: While many view the Fists simply as efficient (if brutal) mercenaries, they are in fact templars sworn to the service of their unforgiving deities--typically Iyachtu Xvim, son of the dead Bane, Lord of Tyranny.
The world is a dark and unforgiving place, or so says the Church of Xvim, wherein the strong survive by ruling the weak and forging order from the chaos.
To support its dogma, the Church established this elite company of templars and made them available for hire to those whose causes complemented the Church's ultimate goals (and who could, naturally, afford to pay the hefty tithes necessary to maintain a crack unit of well-armed and well-trained men and women).

Comments on Authlim of Iyachtu Xvim - The Gibberlings Three Forums
AUTHLIM OF IYACHTU XVIM: Iyachtu Xvim is said to the result of a union between the Black Lord, Bane, and a greater or a true tanar'ri, and thus the blood of Bane runs through his veins.
Xvim was imprisoned under Zhentil Keep during the Time of Troubles, where he was held for ten years.
Xvim is a harsh, unforgiving deity who rules with an iron fist.

The result would be to raise Xvim to an intermediate power and to reduce Cyric to the same level, in Fzoul's mind.
However, Fzoul has two immediate problems to deal with:  The upstart Untheric goddess Tiamat has entered into the Faerûnian pantheon, as mentioned, and is gaining followers rather rapidly, with her moderately successful attempt in some areas to infiltrate the Cult of the Dragon.
Xvim revealed to Fzoul that his own imprisonment earlier beneath Zhentil Keep was achieved through an artifact (not further developed in the module - left open for the Game Master), and he showed Fzoul where this artifact could be found and how to use it.

Iyachtu Xvim Strategy (spoiler) - GameBanshee Forums
I have tried various strategy's to defeat Xvim to no avail.
I play heart of fury mode and my level 18 party was a bunch of five dwarven barbarians with 400 hitpoints each, and a cleric who had several mass-heals and plenty of heals at hand...
Ok Xvim is down pummeled under a rain of Fists from several Earth Elementals and the ceremony is completed.

Xvim himself rules from an oversized fl fortress - the Bastion proper - reminiscent of Zhentil Keep, but with airy terraces and balconies allowing winged minions to easily take off, and preventing Iyachtu Xvim from ever feeling trapped within its stone walls.
They are then harried by the Beasts of Xvim, their fear feeding the forest as their hate would have fed the god.
Interesting to think of Xvim pulling off Bane's trick, but he was such a wimpy replacement for his dad that I doubt he thought that far ahead.

Xvim's green eyes flared "Don't fool yourself Xrist, he is a much better warrior than you.

There are some claims that she is still alive, in her dragon form, where she patiently waits for Bane to return and tell her what to do next, though the mere fact that she has been sainted would seem to suggest that she has died.
There is a claim among the Church of Iyachtu Xvim that she is the Godson's mother, and an official proclamation on this matter is soon expected.
