Elvis Weinstein is an American writer and performer, best known for his role in Mystery Science Theater 3000; he was one of the founding writers/preformers in 1988 at the age of 17.
He changed his professional name from "Josh" to "J. Elvis" to avoid confusion with former Simpsons writer Josh Weinstein.
Weinstein also has a very good background in stand-up comedy, as he has not only performed over a thousand shows as a stand-up comedian, but has also written material for Garry Shandling, Dennis Miller, Roseanne Barr, Louie Anderson and other stand-up comedians.

He is a spec screenwriter, and is more often the one with a potty mouth (when it does happen).

In the same episode, Weinstein's Dr. Erhardt character was written out of the show and a new resident of Deep 13 was introduced: Frank -- later to be known as TV's Frank.
Weinstein used a deep, profundo voice as Tom, so as to not to be confused with the high-pitched, squeaky voice he used as Dr. Erhardt, although the two mixed somewhat.
By the way, he is NOT the Josh Weinstein listed in the credits of "The Simpsons" or "Mars Attacks." To avoid confusion, he bills himself as "J. Elvis Weinstein" in all of his current projects.

 Film Crew and other Solo Works
Because for the first two chapters (nearly 19 minutes) we are treated to an audio track recorded by the original big 3: Joel Hodgson, Trace Beaulieu and Josh "J. Elvis" Weinstein.
He does get in one nice quip -"When did standing in line get so complicated?"- but it's Joel and especially Josh who get the best lines.

When Bill and Josh said "yes" to an interview, it was quite a task for me to stick to the knitting about their WB show Mission Hill.
I was reading in a MST3K fan book that says Josh Weinstein was introduced to Joel Hodgson by his high-school buddy and Writer's Block compadre Trace Beaulieu.
I found an article in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that seems to point to a grassy-knoll Weinstein, so perhaps this is the clue.

It was a double billing with Chris Bliss and J. Elvis Weinstein who writes for several TV shows as well as being a writer and voice actor for Tom Servo on MST3K way back when.
I never thought Chris would juggle with the tiny stage he was on and the low roof, but he did TWO routines infact.
Weinstein rapped the song and did his best to juggle 3 balls in a simple cascade but kept dropping them.

A janitor for an invention development company, Joel Robinson (played by Hodgson), is trapped on a satellite and shot into orbit by two mad scientists, Dr. Clayton Forrester (Trace Beaulieu) and Dr. Larry Erhardt (J. Elvis Weinstein) and forced to watch bad movies by the scientists to gauge his reaction.
But the two key robots are Robinson's "inside bots," Tom Servo (voiced at first by Weinstein then by Kevin Murphy) and Crow (voiced by Beaulieu, then by Bill Corbett), who sit in the theater with him and attack the films.
During intermission, the gang also engages in host segments that may or may not have anything to do with the film and are sometimes visited by the characters.

That opening line to "Big Babies" pretty much sums up what listeners can expect to find on Probably Human.
The album, the first full-length for Boston and later NYC area musician Noam Weinstein, is chock full of sardonic humor and wry depictions of promising relationships gone bad.
The simple and heartfelt -- too simple and too heartfelt, in a way that seems bathetic or trite -- acoustic ballads like "Satisfied," "Something Falling" and "Angel" are the weakest points on Probably Human, though it's safe to say they're neither unbearable nor entirely out of place among such enjoyable mixed company.

 Tom Servo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Servo's voice and personality also changed during the show's early years.
While Josh Weinstein operated Servo during the KTMA season, Servo spoke rather slowly with a squeaky voice, and was somewhat immobile during host segments but oddly very active in the theater.
During Murphy's tenure, Servo took many opportunities to showcase his excellent singing.
