		JEF United can trace its history to the Furukawa Electric football club which was one of the dominant teams of the old Japan Soccer League.
		JEF United got off to a decent start in its very first season, finishing in the middle of the table, but since the first stage of 1993, the team has never finished higher than sixth.
		If JEF ca continue to build on the success of last season, we think the team might have a legitimate shot at a title, a year or two down the line, but without the masterful coaching of Ivica Osim to direct them, we think they will fall a bit short in 2006.

		A J. League soccer player was handed a suspended sentence on Monday for molesting a woman after she fell asleep at his apartment.
		The Tokyo District Court said that Sandro Cardos Dos Santos, a 24-year-old player with JEF United Ichihara Chiba, dined with a woman on May 23 last year and later took her to his apartment in Ichihara.
