JFK was not a good place for shows to begin with, but the band had their self-loathing "We've sold out vibe" frothing with their "We ARE the only band that matters" swagger, and it just really hit the crowd poorly.
Ebet Roberts is a well known photograher from the Philly area and she was also a good friend of "The Hooters" and did many photo shoots of the Hooters and probably was there at the JFK show since The Hooters opened that show.

The transatlantic broadcast from Wembley Stadium suffered technical problems and failed during The Who's performance of their song "My Generation," immediately after Roger Daltrey sang "Why don't you all f---" (the last word was cut off when the transmission broke).

Veterans was a really bad stadium but this was a quality show in spite of the shabbiness of the stadium(and philly in general).
But it was JFK Stadium...Connie Mack Stadium was torn down (don't quote me on this) in the late 60's early 70's?..The Grateful Dead played JFK twice, in 87' with Dylan and on thier 89' summer tour.
JFK was torn down about a month or so after the show, and is now the location of the First Union Center (the Flyers/Sixers new building).

Veterans Stadium was incorporated into an area on South Broad Street called the Sports Complex, so named for (then) having The Spectrum for indoor sports, The Vet (as it's so called by the locals) for outdoor sports, and JFK Stadium for other activities.
Furthermore, if the stadium is the only new structure built in the depressed area, then people going to the stadium will think of their safety and travel by car so as to avoid being in and around the area, before and after the activity they attended.
