The highlights of their research, during the last 30 years, include the discovery of dark matter, of the cellular structure of the Universe, and of the regularity of that structure.
The paper by Jaan Einasto, Enn Saar, and Ants Kaasik in the prestigious journal “Nature”, in 1974, has remained one of the landmarks in the development of 20th century astronomy.
And again, Tartu astronomers, led by Jaan Einasto, have been at the forefront of these studies.

Here, Estonian scientist Jaan Einasto speculates that the rich pattern of clustered galaxies fanning across our universe may have been orchestrated by primordial sound waves generated at the beginning of time.
In the January 9 Nature, Jaan Einasto of the Tartu Observatory in Toravere, Estonia, and his colleagues, provide new support for this picture.
Analyzing a collection of data on galaxy clusters, they find evidence of a three-dimensional pattern of rich clusters and intervening voids with a nearly periodic spacing of about 390 million light-years...

As described below a second group (Joeveer, Einasto, and Tago) published similar results in the November 1978 issue of the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
This is excusable only in one regard: Stephen Gregory and I realized the potential impact of our discovery, so we had refused to discuss our new results even with our closest astronomy colleagues until the manuscript was ready to be submitted.
So neither Malcolm Longair nor Jaan Einasto could have known what we had discovered.

"In a report published in the Jan. 9 issue of Nature, an international team of astronomers led by Jaan Einasto of the Tartu Observatory in Estonia, say they have found reason to believe that superclusters - giant globs of galaxies - are arranged in a gargantuan 'three-dimensional chessboard' extending throughout the heavens.

Eesmärgikindlalt pole rõhutatud ühtegi konkreetset näidendit läbivat teemat, kui välja arvata kavalehel sisalduv (info mesilaste kohta, Jaan Einasto astronoomianähtustest).
Lavastusest kirjutanutel on seoses “Mesimehega” meelde tulnud mõned teised eesti teatrite lavastused: Finn Poulseni lavastatud “Mädarõikamaa”, Jaanus Rohumaa “Arkaadia”, Jüri Kaldmaa on näiteks maininud isegi Jaan Toominga lavastust “Ma olen siin varem olnud”.
Astrofüüsika käsitlus selles näidendis ei ole teab mis teadus ja kui see väärikski kuidagi esiletõstmist antud näidendis, siis oleks pidanud Jaan Einasto Charlotte Jonesile kirjutamise juures abiks olema.
