In 1896, he shared with Tom Roberts a teaching studio in Vickery Chambers, Sydney and during this year also painted along the Hawkesbury River, producing major landscape works such as 'The Purple Noon's Transparent Might', 1896, and 'The River', 1896.
Streeton was greatly impressed by the works of the 'Glasgow School' artists, and exhibited with the Royal Academy in 1900.
His works at this time show his love of nature, his delight in the English garden and his letters to Walter Withers and other colleagues are filled with references to the flowers in his garden and greenhouse.

While I thought the band was exceptional, Jack appeared extremely arrogant and full of himself, tearing things down from the stage, sticking his tongue in a woman's mouth, all within two feet of kids, and while preaching how much he loves his wife.
To put it simply, for those of you who have never heard Jack Ingram: if you go to one live show this year, go see Jack and if you buy one CD this year, make it Jack Ingram's "Live From Gruene Hall." Trust me they will both be more than worth it.
Jack was really great, I bought Electric today and can't wait to listen to it.

From the frenzied, sparks-are-flying opening-credit sequence of Brenda Keesal's feature directorial debut, Jack & Ella, the artist declares herself very, very clearly indeed: this will not be a run-of-the-mill moviegoing experience - anything but.
In introducing us to her netherworld, we learn only that two rather lost souls, Jack (an African-Canadian, played by Henri Pardo) and Ella (a Jew, portrayed by Amy Sloan) bump into each other while jogging.
Where Jack & Ella suffers, I would argue, is primarily in its marketing campaign.

He was recognized in the late 50s and early 60s as one of Canada's pioneering abstractionists, having been variously linked with the Toronto painters associated with The Isaacs Gallery and The Heart of London group that included Jack Chambers, Greg Curnoe and Murray Favro.
He was also, with Chambers and Kim Ondaatje, one of the founders of CAR/FAC (Canadian Artists Representation/Frontes des Artistes Canadiens), the artists'; 'union' that first established a fee schedule for public museum and gallery exhibitions of contemporary artists.
She was an artist in the sense that she liked landscaping the grounds of our house, which were considerable, given the fact that we lived in the centre of the town of Niagara Falls on half an acre.
