		Primary Jack FM logo Jack FM is the moniker and on-air brand of several radio stations in Canada and the United States.
		The station brand briefly became Power 92 FM, which attracted adverse attention from the operators of CKDX, then a dance music station branded Power 88.5 in Newmarket, north of Toronto, and from Corus Entertainment, who had taken steps towards potentially turning their Toronto rock music station Q107 in a new direction as Power 107.

		They started JACK FM in Baltimore, MD… I refuse to listen to it, since they took away one of the most popular Morning Shows in Maryland (one that actually had live traffic information via helicopters(!) as well as good humor) simply because it was an oldies station.

		Now that both Dallas and LA have "JACK FM" stations (that's the incredibly diverse format that "plays what we want") it should be clear to the casual industry observer that the format is rapidly approaching the "tipping point."

		jack played bowling for soups “1985” this morning and i couldn’t help but again recall all the brouhaha o’er the orwellian year 1984 in song, dance and film that proved to be so off the mark (till bushitler got elected, natch).
		Jack is different because for decades, the rule in radio has been that you have a tight format, you have a relatively small playlist, you don’t derivate from that playlist, and the DJs have little discretion about what gets played (maybe they could choose 1 song per hour if they’re lucky).
