	Jack Hyles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Jack Frasure Hyles (September 25, 1926-February 6, 2001) pastored the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana from 1959 to his death.
		Hyles was also a leader in the Independent Baptist movement through his speaking at 'The Sword of the Lord' conferences with John R. Rice and his own annual "Pastors School".
		Hyles' college has always been unaccredited and has remained dependent on its graduates to fill positions as teachers and not schools from other institutions.

		Ignoring both the context and the English grammar of this text, Hyles jumps to the confusion of identifying the "seed" of I Peter 1:23 as being a reference to the "Word of God." It is NOT.
		Hyles completely misses the passage due to his "hobby" of "King James Exclusivism." He wants the "incorruptible" to refer to the KJV and the "corruptible" to refer to other translations.
		Hyles falsely thinks that men cannot be born again apart from the King James translation, as he contends that it is exclusively the "incorruptible seed." His error is simple: he fails to take into account that the Word of God existed in other translations and in the Greek manuscripts before the KJV of 1611.

		Hyles, 74, was pastor of First Baptist Church, Hammond, Ind., a Chicago-area independent Baptist congregation that was ranked as the largest church in the nation according to weekly attendance in the early 1990s, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
		Hyles suffered a heart attack Jan. 30 and a second heart attack at the outset of more than eight hours of surgery Feb. 5 at the University of Chicago Hospital for four heart bypasses and two heart valve replacements.
		Hyles, an Italy, Texas, native, is survived by his wife Beverly, three daughters and a son, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
