Jean-Baptiste "Jack" Laviolette (Born - July 27, 1879 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada - Died - January 10, 1960) was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played 1 season in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens.
The team Laviolette built would go on to be the most successful franchise in professional hockey.

For their speed and flair on the ice, Pitre and his Canadiens teammates Jack Laviolette and Newsy Lalonde were dubbed the Flying Frenchmen.
The architect of the original Canadiens dynasty, Laviolette also starred on the ice with Pitre and Newsy Lalonde, forming the dazzling triumvirate known as the Flying Frenchmen, which led the Habs to their first Stanley Cup in 1916.
Laviolette's playing days were cut short in 1919 when he lost a foot in a car accident, but his greatness was recognized in 1962 when, along with Pitre, he received posthumous induction into hockey's hall of fame.
