Jack McGurn - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Machine Gun" Jack McGurn (1905–February 15, 1936) was a key member of Al Capone's Chicago-based criminal organization known as the Chicago Outfit, and believed to be the principal assassin and planner of the 1929 St.
Sometime in the 1920s, McGurn joined Capone's gang, allegedly to avenge the murder of his father by the Sicilian Angelo Genna, whose crime family ruled the rackets on Chicago's West Side.
McGurn, by then impoverished and abandoned by his fellow gangsters, was assassinated on St. Valentine's Day in 1936 in a Chicago bowling alley while wearing rented shoes exactly seven years after the massacre.

It turned out that Jack McGurn and Louise Rolfe were at first not married but later on had to because he was convicted of seven counts of murder and for white slavery.
I think a lot of this is because of the media coverage at the time where the mafias were known to be immigrants and that they “successfully” made their name to the public and looked up to a certain extent.
