John (Jack) Ryder (born August 8 1889 in Collingwood, Melbourne, Victoria - died April 3 1977 in Fitzroy, Melbourne) was an Australian cricketer.
He held the post for 23 years, during which time Australias cricketers registered some of their finest peformences Ryder, nicknamed the king of collingwood, was a slow talking man this was hardly typical of his batting style.
He was master of the drive this was particulary evident during his 201 not out this Innings included century partneships of 134 with Andrews and 108 with Oldfield, he also 88 in the second innings becoming the first to achieve the feat.
