  Jack Sherman Morrison
Born in Santa Barbara on December 17, 1912, Jack Sherman Morrison was from the very start of his life a participant in the performing arts.
Jack Morrison's teaching career began as an assistant in public speaking in 1945, then as an assistant in theater in 1947-48, the first year of the new Department of Theater Arts in the College of Applied Arts.
Stricken with Parkinson's disease, Jack was forced to leave his service to UCLA and retire to Malibu, subsequently moving to a hospital facility in Santa Barbara.

Alfred Kazin's chapter on Jack London in On Native Grounds (1942) is one of the landmarks of mid-century London criticism.
Sherman's bibliography lists a total of 38 articles on The Call of the Wild during between 1960-1974, a quantity of criticism only three articles short of matching the entire critical output between 1904 and 1959.
Sherman, who is a scholar of African-American literature, includes a introductory overview of London’s work in her annotated bibliography, which remains a landmark in studies of the author’s work.

Jack wanted very much to be an idea man, an editor, a nexus for creative talent, and that did not fit in with DC's plans or structure at the time, so he wound up doing it all pretty much himself.

A former Chiquita lawyer, George Ventura, had asked Sherman last month to order the two journalists to discuss Ventura's role as a confidential source for the stories.
However, Sherman said Ventura could not assume that he was the only confidential source and that a shield law can be waived only by a news person.

He wasnt dissing me...I am in the process of learning to cook since my boyfriend does all the cooking and Jack was just trying to help....so I would have mushed the meatloaf together with the stuff that goes in it, but was hesitant to touch raw meat....gross.....
