  Season 2005-2006 : Swindon Town v Yeovil Town : Saturday 27th August 2005
Yeovil continued their confident start with a Kevin Amankwaah long throw causing a spot of head tennis within the Swindon penalty area, and Lee Johnson firing a loose ball from the edge of the box just wide of the target.
Whilst Yeovil had started the first half sharper, it was Swindon who came out the blocks quicker with Chris Weale being forced into a strong parried save on his near post, five minutes into the half and Terry Skiverton forced to hack the ball away for a corner.
Jack Smith was allowed way too much room to run at the Yeovil back line and as the 'green sea' kindly parted, he thumped in a shot from the edge of the area with his shot crashing off the underside of the crossbar.

Jack Yeovil proves himself not just a skilled writer, but a man capable of seducing you into loving his work.
Yeovil paces it like a Master Craftsman, keeps you thinking up to the end, scripts it so smooth you'd think your mother was reading you a bedtime story, and ends it with an incredible climax.
Jack Yeovil (Kim Newman) does an excellent job of fleshing out the warhammer universe, and you'll be suprised by the number of famous warhammer names within this novel.

Kim Newman - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the same year, as "Jack Yeovil", he began contributing to a series of novels published by Games Workshop, set in the world of their Warhammer and Dark Future wargaming and role-playing games.
The novel is set in 1888, during Jack the Ripper's killing spree — but a different 1888 to the one we know, in which Dracula succeeded in becoming the ruler of England.
Anno-Dracula was followed by a series of novels and shorter works in the same setting (although not the same time period — as of 2003, the series has reached the 1980s).

 Bookslut | A phantom menace
Most of his Yeovil novels were written quickly as work-for-hire assignments for Games Workshop, a company whose Warhammer setting is about as derivative as any setting one could imagine.
But the Yeovil books somehow transcend their origins, and are must-haves for any horror fans with a sense of humor.
Subtle, it ain't, but the novel (which follows the story of a mysterious Jack The Ripper-style killer stalking the streets of a Wahammer city), is a blast, and the mystery story beneath all the humor is actually pretty well done.

The Wilson book was a fast, entertaining read, and the Google book was good but not as philosophical or interesting as John Battelle’s The Search.
Heroes Die and Demon Download were end-of-the-year treats for me. Heroes Die was actually very good, a dense fantasy story with a science fictional premise and a gritty, realistic style that sort of anticipates the writing of Richard K. Morgan (though isn’t as brilliant).
As for Demon Download - Jack Yeovil is a pseudonym of Kim Newman, whose writing I enjoy, so I picked this up in northern Alabama during the “holidays” and scarfed it down like candy.
