Jackass (TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jackass is an American television series, originally shown on MTV from 2000 to 2002, featuring people performing various dangerous, ridiculous, and self-injuring stunts and pranks.
Since the first episode, Jackass frequently featured warnings and disclaimers noting that the stunts performed were dangerous and should not be imitated, and that recordings of any stunts would not be aired on MTV.
Jackass: Number Two was released on September 22, 2006, produced by Paramount Pictures and distributed by both Paramount and MTV Films.

 Jackass The Movie
As with the television series, stunt-master (?) Johnny Knoxville, and his cohorts Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, Chris Pontius (AKA Party Boy), Steve-O, Dave England, Jason "Wee Man" Acuna, Preston Lacy, and Ehren McGhehey, (as well as a host of guests) engage in a series of mind-numbingly stupid stunts and pranks.
The movie is made up of "Candid Camera"-like skits in which the group pulls practical jokes in public, such as toppling a park bench, or skateboarding while dressed as pandas, and specifically staged "stunts", such as rolling through a room filled with mousetraps or walking a tightrope over a pond full of alligators.
Determined to maintain their street-credit, the Jackass team has director Jeff Tremaine shoot the majority of the movie on high-end video, so that it wouldn't look that much different from the show.

Shot in Digital Video, and with a regular television aspect ratio of 1:78:1 that seems stretched to fit in the regular 1:85 cinematic ratio, this film comes off as somewhat of a disappointment that will deliver no supplemental feeling of satiation nor of exuberance compared to watching a decent television episode of Jackass.

Beavis and Butt-head were comically pathetic in their stupidity and, consequently, the show was a highly ironic and self-mocking representation of young men's inexplicable fascination with poo and dead animals, among other things.
