Jackie Mason is such a performer, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest stand-up comics of all time.
Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Jackie Mason was raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan surrounded by rabbis.
Mason hosted a nationally syndicated radio talk show and together with his friend and collaborator, the divorce attorney Raoul Lionel Felder, he hosted both the weekly PBS talk television series "Crossing The Line" and BBC radio show "The Mason-Felder Report" three times each week.

But Mason delivers them without the venom of, say, Don Rickles; I don't want to defend stereotypes, goodness knows, but they do come from somewhere, and Mason loves to exploit those germs of truth in what, in another's hands, could be little more than crude and offensive reductionism.
Mason's cadence is as classically Jewish as it can be, but he's a surprisingly good mimic—his Kissinger and his Ted Kennedy are sharp, and he even gets in more than a couple of digs at his bete noire, Ed Sullivan.

Jackie Mason is, and has always been, a 3rd-rate borscht belt comic...his audience is people over 60 for the most part, and if he's anti-palestinian...well, i'm not surprised one bit.
If Jackie Mason still had a career, he wouldn't be performing at small clubs like that one in Chicago...I think he's going to benefit from the publicity too, unfortunately, and he'll probably be on Larry King within a few days, milking it for all it's worth...
Jackie *swears* he held up _two_ fingers, but Ed and others saw it differently, and Jackie was banned from Ed's show and was pretty much flballed in the biz for a while after that.
