Having lost his mother at an early age, and being adopted with his three brothers by an uncle, Cats was sent to school at Zierikzee.
Cats was contemporary with Hooft and Vondel and other distinguished Dutch writers in the golden age of Dutch literature, but his Orangist and Calvinistic opinions separated him from the liberal school of Amsterdam poets.
According to the color of the corundum the stone is known as sapphire cats-eye, ruby cats-eye, topaz cats-eye, andc.

The two older, one male (Ollie), one female (Boo), still fight to be "top cat." The Boo terrorizes the younger female, Tipper.
I at first let him come & go as he pleased but when I was woke up a couple of times from a cat fight & running out to rescue him I decided to keep him in the house.
He is a house cat and the temperature inside stays the same and he has not been around chemicals, so I don't know what is wrong with him.

n connection with this idea of the lamp of tradition there is a very interesting book, "Alle de Wercken" by a certain Jacob Cats, published in Amsterdam in 1655.
It is also known that at some earlier period he had spent considerable time in England, and that he lived to a great age.
Among Cats' emblems in "Alle de Wercken" is one with the title "Lampado trado" in which an old man hands the lamp of tradition across an open grave to a young man with an extravagantly large rose on his shoe buckle.
