Poor White Trash (2001) - Review By DAILY-REVIEWS.COM
The movie starts as college-bound kid Mikey (Tony Denman) and his spaz friend Lenny (Jacob Tierney) get arrested after pulling a youthful prank at a gas station.
Jacob Tierney provided a lot a great stupid lines, Jaime Pressly was good as her usual white trash vixen role, and the invariably clean cut Jason London was barely recognizable in his part.

The film was truly hilarious, a brilliant send up of the white trash lifestyle, without being too insulting to the culturally challenged.

 Straight.com Vancouver Movie Reviews Twist
The references to Charles Dickens's Oliver Twist are not as obvious or gimmicky as you might expect in director Jacob Tierney's ultrableak update of the famous tale.
Still, as sombre and low-key as it is, Twist shows vision: Tierney builds gloom by opting for plenty of distancing wide-angle shots, and he's bathed the few non-nocturnal scenes in that cold, steel-grey light peculiar to Toronto November days.
There's a long, hand-knit scarf here, a pleated apron there; the "boys" live in a grimy dorm that looks like a factory abandoned since the Industrial Revolution, and they hang out in an all-night diner with tawdry Olde English woodwork and fake-wrought-iron chandeliers.

At the end of this literary game of cat and mouse, he was back where he started, the sole support of his mother and his father.

 Metroactive Movies The Neon Bible
The Neon Bible, published after A Confederacy of Dunces, is a book of memories told by the sheltered adolescent David (Jacob Tierney) during a train journey.
The Neon Bible is a story not as affecting as the tale of a writer who was considered to be worth nothing until he was dead.
The problem with The Neon Bible is that Davies is making the same film again and again, and all that's changing is the quality of the production values--he has hundreds of extras where he once had dozens.

 "Neon Bible' glows darkly
The story revolves around David (played by Drake Bell as a 10-year-old and Jacob Tierney at 16), an only child growing up in a poor Bible Belt town.
Just as the characters long to escape their situation, you're likely to feel trapped during "The Neon Bible." Davies' ability to create a dreamlike world of memory remains undiminished, but this time he's created a nightmare.
Whereas that film had some moments of levity and camp, "The Neon Bible" is one long crawl into an emotional abyss without catharsis.
