Jacques le fataliste (1796; Jacques the Fatalist) is a novel in the form of a series of dialogues between an author-narrator and the reader, and, within the story, between Jacques and his master.
Other authors of the movement were Arthur Adamov, Jacques Audiberti, Jean Genet, and Jean Tardieu.
In some ways the leading exponents of these movements—Barthes, Jacques Derrida, Michel Foucault, Jacques Lacan, and Julia Kristeva—have replaced the creative writers of previous centuries as the prominent literary figures of France.

 Another Victor Hugo? -- Friday, May. 04, 1962 -- Page 1 -- TIME
Audiberti recently became a contributor to the Comédie Française, thus assuring himself of a sort of down payment on immortality.
But Audiberti's attention-demanding pace, his mixing of dialect and modern slang with classical French, his erotic, violent language, his loving description of urination—all were too much.
Already widely produced in France, Switzerland, Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium, Audiberti's plays are part allegory, part farce, simple confrontations of good and evil—and all of them share a torrential richness of language and sensuality of tone that have won wide critical acclaim.

Jacques Dufilho | Obituaries | Guardian Unlimited
With his shaven head, penetrating gaze, glowering look and sharp voice, the French character actor Jacques Dufilho, who has died aged 91, was a powerful presence on stage and screen for over half a century.
Perhaps the nearest equivalent to him in England was Donald Pleasence, with whom he shared a talent for comic menace.
Dufilho, who played Davies in the Paris revival of the play in 1969, was also associated with such other contemporary playwrights as Jean Anouilh (Colombe, 1951), Jacques Audiberti (Le Mal Court, 1955), Frederich Durrenmatt (The Marriage of Mr Mississippi, 1959, and The Visit, 1963) and Martin Walser (Chêne et Lapins Angora, 1968).

The Criterion Collection: Shoot the Piano Player
And his high-velocity storytelling is intimately tied to the feeling of impending mortality, the sense of every given moment in time coming and going, never to return.
As for surprise, Shoot the Piano Player is about as unpredictable from one moment to the next as any film I know—from the subtitled singer (Boby Lapointe, who was introduced to Truffaut by the writer Jacques Audiberti) to the expiring mother.
Most famously of all, it is a film about a type of emotional reticence that is almost too delicate to pin down in words.
