Jacqui McShee's Pentangle - Feoffees' Lands
McShee formed her second Pentangle, this time featuring Fairport Convention drummer Gerry Conway, keyboardist Spencer Cozens and guested Ralph McTell - the latter by now a leading light on the roots scene.
In 2005, Jacqui McShee's Pentangle are breezing along somewhere just beneath the radar but with five lifetimes of experience and stories to share.
Like McShee's, his vocals are relaxed, unstrained and augmented by all manner of musical phrases delivered by flute, piano and sax.

McShee's vocals have diminished little over the years, and the sophisticated, harmonically inventive arrangements of the traditional songs generally work quite well and cast a new light on the material.
McShee was known for her memorable acapella performances with the Pentangle.
While Jacqui McShee is still singing some of the same songs she sang in 1968 with the original Pentangle, this is certainly not the same group or the same sound.

Founding members of the British folk-rock group Pentangle in the 1960s, guitarist John Renbourn and vocalist Jacqui McShee have been musical collaborators and innovators for four decades.
Renbourn's guitar style is a unique product of years of curiosity and investigation, a breathtaking blend of British and Celtic folk styles with jazz, blues, ragtime, classical, Middle Eastern, and Renaissance sounds all thrown in; he himself calls it "folk-baroque." London-born McShee combines an enchanting soprano voice with an experimenter's outlook.

Pentangle Discography - Slipcue.Com e-Zine British Folk Guide
With guitarists John Renbourn and Bert Jansch, vocalist Jacqui McShee, percussionist Terry Cox and Danny Thompson, the world's most ubiquitous bass player, at its core, Pentangle was an early powerhouse in the English folk-fusion scene.
Their first outing together was almost entirely a jazzy affair, a logical extension of the deepening acoustic blues-jazz explorations that Renbourn and Jansch had been into for the last few years, as well as familiar turf for Jacqui McShee, who came to the group from a jazz background.
It must be admitted that the group, particularly Jacqui McShee, skirts perilously close to abject pretensiouness, but on the whole this is one of their best records.
