		KOLKATA: HP today announced that Jadavpur University has been awarded 'Technology for Teaching' Grant to transform the way subjects are taught on its campus.
		The university will receive approximately US$70,000 worth of technology such as HP tablet PCs, external storage and optical drives, wireless networking cards and printers, as well as a stipend for staff to work on the projects, which have to be completed in 15 months.
		Universities that have been selected by HP for this global award in the Asia Pacific region are Anna University, India, University of Tokyo, Japan, University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and Yonsei University, Korea.

		KOLKATA: Jadavpur University in West Bengal will introduce a four-year undergraduate course in Ayurveda from the 2006 academic session.
		Beginning from June 2006, Ayurvedic pharmaceutical engineering will be introduced as a full-time undergraduate course by the varsity in collaboration with the state health department.
		Jadavpur University executive council member Partha Pratim Biswas said on Tuesday that the course would be run at a private institute in Kalyani, near Kolkata, and the state government had agreed to allow the students to use its garden of herbal plants for experiments.
