Jak II actually takes the concept of your typical “platform” game and attempts to meld it with nearly every other genre under the sun.
Jak’s busted out of jail by Daxter and then, in order to fulfill his lust for revenge, starts taking on jobs from various members of the underground movement to overthrow the Baron.
Jak’s new look is drastically improved — even with that goofy goatee — and the characters you meet along the way are convincing and well thought out.

Jak X offers standard driving with combat in arenas and open-ended gathering challenging races to encompass several racing genres in one package.
The twist here is that since Jak and his friends, (including the ever-annoying Daxter) have been poisoned by the evil Krew, one of the underworld heads in.
Jak X's pacing benefits from its non-linear structure, which allows players to progress through the missions in whatever manner they wish, giving you a small sense of freedom.

There are 16 total areas to explore in Jak 2, and the city acts as an overland map of sorts, revealing passageways and different routes to one of the areas waiting to be explored.
When Jak was imprisoned by Baron Praxis, he was exposed to all kinds of medical experiments, most of which involved dark eco (remember, the foul stuff that turned Daxter into that...thing?) As a result, Jak is no longer just a pre-teen-looking kid.
Jak and Daxter did what it did in 2001, which was basically give us a very polished play of the current platform game standard.
