 | | For those of you who don’t know, Finntroll is a Finnish band, although they sing in Swedish, playing death metal infused with traditional Finnish polka, or humppa, and some folk-elements. |
 | | Lately, fusions and crossovers have been more and more popular in the metal-world, spawning styles like metalcore, jazzcore, rapcore, and what have you, but this is something beyond that. |
 | | The polka-influences are, however, more common, and it doesn’t really appeal to me. While it at times can sound like pretty pompous music, like an epic fl metal sort of thing, the polka, and the lyrics (providing you can understand them) detracts from any notion of seriousness that one may have regarding this band. |
