Jaleco - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jaleco was a video game company whose focus lay in arcade titles, as well as titles for the NES and other popular computer and video game consoles of the 1980s and 1990s, most notably the Bases Loaded series and Carrier.
By the year 2000, Jaleco, still active in the development of arcade and console video games, hadn't produced any hit title in years and was in a struggling state.
Jaleco is the official subsdiairy of the whole PCCW Group in Japan which includes many activities unrelated to videogaming such as music, web application and mobile phone content.

This "Jaleco incident", in fact, is the very reason I wanted to make it FREE (as in public domain) rather than "GPL free" (strings attached).
Consider that Jaleco is exactly the same kind of company of those that try to bring emulation projects in courts.
By Jaleco not giving credit to Loopy it shows lack of character and suggests Jaleco was trying to hide the fact they are profiting legally, but not morally off of someone else’s hard work.

 Lost Levels Online
Jaleco's '89 lineup was weak enough to begin with; aside from Bashi Bazook and the pair of sports titles, the company's only other planned title for US distribution was a port of the primitive 1985 Famicom shooter Exerion, which also went unreleased.
Perhaps the company wanted to take a more reserved approach to publishing games in 1989 to better evaluate their financial situation, or maybe there were concerns that their titles would be lost in the shuffle of the 110 new NES releases that year.
Jaleco proves that they can't even make a good racing game with this title, which touts the "feature" of your driver suffering a heart attack if he or she drives too fast.

A Jaleco press-release quoted by Re:Tokyo makes it clear that this is a direct tit-for-tat lawsuit only prompted by Konami's VJ legal action.
