Jameer Nelson (born February 9, 1982 in Chester, Pennsylvania) is a professional basketball player for the Orlando Magic of the NBA.
Jameer Nelson became arguably the most publicized player during his senior season in 2003-2004 as he led the Saint Joseph's Hawks to a 27-1 regular season record.
Nelson was selected 20th in the 2004 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets, and was subsequently traded to Orlando for a 2005 first round draft pick.

Nelson moved out of the starting line-up Wednesday night but remained an offensive focal point, scoring a career-high 32 points (9-for-16 from the field, 12-for-14 from the line) with eight assists, three steals, and two 3-pointers in 35 minutes off the bench.
Nelson is great as a spark off the bench a la Earl Boykins and the soon to be NY sparkplug, Nate Robinson, but he doesn't have the size to start.

While he is not faster from baseline to baseline than most in the draft Nelson possesses amazing lateral quickness which allows him to stay in front of his man. He also has quick hands and even quicker reflexes allowing a solid amount of on the ball steals.
Nelson is a leader on the court, he single handidly turned around the St. Joe's basketball program.
Nelson also needs to work on his consistency from long range; some games he will be on fire and simply drain them from every conceivable angle, yet other games he will struggle for little apparent reason (his passing and dribble penetration skills are consistent, this is simply a discussion of his long range shot).
