James "Duke" Aiona recently wrapped up 10 days as Hawaii's acting governor, but the 50-year-old first-time politician says he is not sure he wants to run for governor.
Aiona won his first attempt at elected office when he beat Dalton Tanonaka in the 2002 Republican primary by 8,280 votes and then went on with Lingle to win the general election.
Aiona held a drug summit and meetings across the state in 2003 and came up with a plan of attack, which was criticized by the Legislature.

James Aiona signed three bills targeting underage drinking and drunken driving into law on Monday.
Because of the new laws, anyone under 21 who is caught purchasing, possessing, or drinking alcohol will lose his or her driver's license.
When Aiona signed House Bill 3242, it added consumption to purchasing and possessing alcohol as illegal, making Hawaii the 37th state to have such a prohibition.
