  James Hervey Dudley
James Hervey Dudley, youngest son of James and Lydia (Leete) Dudley, was born July 14, 1817, in the town of Stanford, Duchess Co., N.Y. He was a lineal descendant of William Dudley of Guilford, Conn., on his father's side, and of Gov. William Leete on his mother's side.
James, son of John Dudley, and Lydia, daughter of John Leete, were married May 1,1805, and located in Richmond, near his paternal homestead, and carried on the flsmith business there for several years, but, his health failing, he with his wife and Chester Leete, their first child, removed to Sachem's Head.
Dudley was one of the original members of the First Congregational church in the then village of Poughkeepsie, which was organized in 1837, and for more than forty years he has been its stated clerk, and has often been sent as delegate to other bodies.

WD68735: James Dudley, Appellant v. Southern Union Company D/B/A Missouri Gas Energy, Respondent
James Dudley filed a petition alleging MGE illegally transferred his tenant’s bill to his residential account, illegally disconnected his home gas service while his bill was in dispute, and negligently and recklessly acted in deciding not to follow its own tariff for gas service.
Dudley’s notice of appeal was untimely filed because the judgment became final on June 20, 2007, and his motion for clarification is not an authorized after-trial motion.
Dudley’s motion closely resembles a motion to amend the judgment in that it challenges the language used by the trial court.

 Frank Virgil Dudley on artnet
It does not appear that Dudley submitted work to exhibitions of a national scope prior to the turn of the century; however, by 1902 his first painting was accepted for exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Dudley was active in the second decade of the century: in 1915 he won the Art Institute of Chicago’s Butler Prize.
As an avid ecologist and conservationist, Dudley joined others interested in maintaining the natural beauty of the dunes, reminding his contemporaries of their simple pleasures of living there: the graceful flight of a sand-hill crane or the delight of a wild strawberry shortcake.

There is a possibility that Benjamin Graves is an ancestor (father of James Dudley Graves and grandfather of James D. Graves) because he married a Polly Dudley and her brother, James, was the executor of Benjamin's will.
Although James Dudley Graves was not mentioned in Benjamin's will, it was not uncommon for the elder son not to be in the will, since they sometimes received their portion when they married (although the age of James Dudley Graves is not known relative to the children mentioned in the will).
There are several possibilities: (1) Benjamin Dudley Graves was not a son of B. Graves, (2) Benjamin Dudley Graves was the same as one of the other children who was named, perhaps Ambrose Dudley Graves, or (3) Benjamin Dudley Graves was cut out of the will and estranged from his family.

 Finishes (RIP) - James Dudley
James Dudley died at age 93 in early June from natural causes.
Dudley's ties to the McMahon family date back to the early '40s, when he was briefly employed by Jess McMahon, grandfather of the current ring kingpin and a New York—based boxing and concert promoter.
Vincent J. McMahon retired to Florida, and Dudley's workload was reduced to next to nothing by the time the son took over total control of the operation in 1980, changed the name to the WWF, and moved the company's offices to Connecticut.

Saint James Episcopal Church Landmark Determination
James' Episcopal Church, a picturesque stone building designed in 1863 for a rural parish in what was then a part of Westchester County, is among New York City's finest Gothic Revival style religious structures.
James' Episcopal Church is constructed of "native stone" laid in a random manner with lighter red sandstone trim enframing the windows and doorway openings.
Dudley's use of this low-keyed polychromatic effect appears again in his work in 1865 at the Church of the Ascension in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where the surrounds of the lancets on the front facade are subtly banded with a stone that contrasts with that of the main mass of the building.
