Another basis for our complaints is James Reilly's long history of giving very predictable and overdone story lines to the same favorite characters, which diminishes our enjoyment of the show due to lack of suspense.
We are frustrated with James Reilly's lack of imagination and rumors on spoiler web sites for the show that indicate Reilly intends to tie up the murder mystery plot with "someone gets kidnapped and replaced by an evil look-alike who turns out to be the killer".
We believe the results of James Reilly's incompetence as a writer and disregard for our views stated here will only serve to alienate a large portion of the “Days” male and female viewing audience of all ages, and will subsequently cause the show's ratings to drop drastically.

James E. Reilly- my honest thoughts on his legacy - Topic Powered by eve community
I think it's time now, with soaps in the state they're in now, to be brutally honest about the legacy James E. Reilly left- not just NBC Daytime, but the whole soap opera genre.
Because if we are to be totally honest about it, we would come to the conclusion that Reilly's legacy- however successful his first stint Days was ratings-wise- was in fact extremely damaging to the entire soap genre.
The reason Reilly's legacy is so damaging is because he took mindless sensationalism to a whole new level with his supernatural storylines, and because other soaps sought to follow suit this soon spread like cancer through the entire soap genre as the years went on.
