Forbes served from 1976-1985 as the Brown and Sockman Associate Professor of Preaching at Union Theological Seminary in New York City.
Born in 1935 in Burgaw, North Carolina, Dr. Forbes is married to Bettye Franks Forbes, formerly of San Antonio, TX.

The Commonwealth contends that Forbes continued to drive, knowing that he was susceptible to fl-outs and that he drove on March 24, 1996, knowing his blood sugar was low and disregarding the known risk that he posed to other motorists.
