JAMES HANNINGTON (1847-1885), English missionary, was born at Hurstpierpoint, in Sussex, on the 3rd of September 1847.
From earliest childhood he displayed a love of adventure and natural history.
After eight days his men were murdered, and on the 29th of October 1885 he himself was speared in both sides, his last words to the soldiers appointed to kill him being, " Go, tell Mwanga I have purchased the road to Uganda with my blood." His Last Journals were edited in 1888.

HANNINGTON, a lake of British East Africa in the eastern rift-valley just south of the equator and in the shadow of the Laikipia escarpment.
Standing in the lake and along its shores are numbers of dead trees, the remains of an ancient forest, which serve as eyries for storks, herons and eagles.
The lake is named after Bishop James Hannington.

The day, marked in the Anglican calendar by the martyrdom of Bishop James Hannington, seems singularly appropriate.
Many African men suffered the fate of James Hannington.
With such a history, it is easy to see how Christians in Uganda would find all homosexuality utterly repugnant, as they continue to venerate the memory of their first Bishop and all who died at the orders of King Mwanga.

So, despite the Hannington transmitter being 8 miles away, and Crystal Palace 44 miles away, MCE/the driver pick all the Crystal Palace channels as the channels 1 - 61, and the EPG being defined for Hannington, shows all the channels as "No data available".
The Hannington channels are all detected, but are up in the 130 range (e.g.
It takes about 2 hours to move the channels from the 130's down to 1's, and move the others out of the way so that the channels get the correct numbers, which surely can't be right.

James Hannington (1847-1885) was consecrated first Bishop of Eastern Equatorial Africa in 1884.
Hannington and many of his companions were martyred on October 29, 1885 while en route to conduct missionary work in Uganda.
