James Hardiman (1782-1855), also known as Séamus Ó hArgadáin, was born in the west of Ireland around 1782.
Hardiman is best remembered for his History of the Town and County of Galway (1820) and Irish Minstrelsy (1831), one of the first published collections of Irish poetry and songs.

Curb were formed in 1999 from the remnants of electronic band Deckchair.
Realising that they were going nowhere fast with their somewhat dated sound the three members, James Hardiman (vocals,keyboards), brothers Matthew (keyboards,bass) and David Stephens (guitar) canged direction, focusing on a more rock orientated guitar driven sound with electronics, whilst still in evidence taking a backseat.
