James MacArthur - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
James Gordon MacArthur (born December 8, 1937 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor.
James MacArthur is best known for the role of Dan (Danno) Williams, reliable second-in-command to Steve McGarrett (played by Jack Lord), head of the fictional Hawaiian State Police squad Hawaii Five-O.
In his scenes with the veterans, James showed that he was more than capable of matching experience with ability, and his "sensitive and intelligent" portrayal of the misunderstood teenager, teetering on the brink of delinquency, was lauded by critics and viewers alike.

The American Experience | MacArthur | People & Events | Senate Hearings on Korea (May-June, 1951)
The Democrats were anxious, as "TIME" reported, "to keep General MacArthur's thundering rhetoric out of earshot of the microphones and his dramatic profile off the screens of twelve million television sets." In the end, the Democrats had their way, mainly by arguing that open hearings would reveal secrets that might threaten national security.
Dressed in an understated jacket bare of any medals except his insignia of rank, MacArthur impressed observers with his stamina ("At the end of three days he was just as fresh as when he started.") and bearing ("very dignified and impressive").
Regarding strategy in Korea, MacArthur admitted to no mistakes and reiterated the "decisive" actions he had been advocating since December: naval blockade of Communist China, naval and air bombardment of the Chinese mainland, use of Chinese Nationalist troops in Korea, and Nationalist "infiltrative" operations across the Formosa Strait.

John MacArthur - James 2 vs. Romans 4
It appears certain that [James] is speaking of the manifestation, not of the imputation of righteousness, as if he had said, Those who are justified by faith prove their justification by obedience and good works, not by a bare and imaginary semblance of faith.
James demands that a man who already claims to stand in right relationship with God through faith must by a life of good works demonstrate that he has become a new creature in Christ.
That is in perfect harmony with James: "Prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves" (1:22); for "faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself" (2:17).
