 Wikipedia: Peerage
In Scotland, however, "baron" is a feudal rank, and not one of the peerage.
The Scottish equivalent to the English barony is the "Lordship of Parliament," the male holder thereof being known as a Lord of Parliament.
Some time after the Wensleydale case, a bill was brought into the House of Lords to allow the Sovereign to create two life peers to sit as "Lords of Appeal in Ordinary", provided that they had the qualification of having been judges for at least five years.

 Life peer - Gurupedia
From the reign of James I to that of George II (1603–1760), eighteen life peerages were created for women.
Sir James Parke, a baron (judge) of the Exchequer, was created Baron Wensleydale for life, but the House of Lords concluded that the peerage did not entitle him to sit in the House of Lords.
Originally, though they held the rank of baron for life, they served in Parliament only while holding judicial office; eleven years later, however, an act was passed allowing Lords of Appeal to continue to sit and vote in Parliament even after retirement from office.

If it is true, then it should be mentioned in the article on Parke.

The sub-fonds family and estate papers contains material relating to the family properties, including papers pre- and post-dating Henry Brougham's tenure, which properties, although held by Brougham for a period, were even then administered by his brothers James and, after 1833, William, who eventually inherited the title and properties on Henry's death in 1868.
Owing to their more intimate contact with the locality of Brougham, the papers of James (Ref: BROUGHAM J) and William (Ref: BROUGHAM WB) contain much more material of local interest to Westmorland and Cumberland, and there is further information on the locality in James Atkinson's correspondence (Ref: BROUGHAM A).

The Reminiscences Of Sir Henry Hawkins (Baron Brampton) by Henry Hawkins Brampton eBook by BookRags
I mention these old-fashioned times and studies, not because of their interest at the present day, but because they produced such men as Littledale, Bayley, Parke (afterwards Lord Wensleydale), Alderson, Tindal, Patteson, Wightman, Crompton, Vaughan Williams, James, Willes, and, later, Blackburn.
The contemplation of these legal giants, amongst whom my career commenced, somewhat checked the buoyant impulse which had urged me onward at Quarter Sessions, but at the same time imparted a little modest desire to imitate such incomparable models.
All were competitors for the briefs and even the smiles of solicitors; for without their favour none could succeed, although he might unite in himself all the qualities of lawyer and advocate.
