James Ray Phipps appeared yesterday in federal court in Birmingham, Alabama, where a United States Magistrate Judge detained him pending a detention hearing set for tomorrow, Thursday, April 20.
Phipps would represent that he would collect a four percent fee for administering “Life Without Debt” and would distribute the remainder of contribution money to the people above them in the pyramid matrix, referred to as “upline” from new recruits.
In fact, Phipps instructed members that contributed by money order to send nine money orders leaving the payee lines blank for processing by “Life Without Debt,” explaining that one money order was for his four percent fee and the other eight money orders were payments for “up-line” members in the “Life Without Debt” matrix.

Phipps told deputies he then tied a bow knot around his wife’s neck as she lay on the garage floor, left and went to a convenience store for 40 minutes, then returned to uphold his end of the agreement.
Burns testified that James Phipps had told investigators that his wife urged him to make sure she was dead before he took his own life.

The "Hunter" aircraft's job was to scout for any enemy activity in the team's area of operation, then notify the "Killer" aircraft of the enemy's position and strength for the gunship to attack.
While there appears little chance that WO1 Phipps, WO1 Ramos and SP4 Warren Newton survived the loss of their aircraft, they have the right to have their remains returned to the families, friends and country if possible.

On the morning of June 13 the skirmish line discovered that Grant's army had disappeared and by noon the brigade was marching across the Chickahominy for Newmarket heights, where they had the first opportunity for a bath and change of clothing since the beginning of the campaign.
June 18 they marched across the James River to Petersburg, and took position in the trenches, which they left on the 22d to go into battle in support of the other brigades of the division, after which they returned.
In February the brigade was posted next the James River on the line to Swift Run, whence early in March they moved to Richmond, where General Harris was put in command of the forces, including his own brigade, holding the inner line of defenses, to meet Sheridan's raid.
