		Champion and prolific author James Plaskett explains how to use the defense and its variations (including the Icelandic Gambit), discusses the schemes played by such superstars as Vishy Anand in his World Cup Championship against Gary Kasparov, and shows how Black can employ the Scandinavian in a radically different middlegame.
		Plaskett, to his credit, does spend three pages on 2 Nc3.
		Plaskett has 38 pages on the Portuguese, and if you play it, I think you may want to get Selby Anderson's book on it as well.

		Unlike some similar books I could name Plaskett doesn't try to convince us that the opening is well-nigh a forced win for fl from move four onwards - fl actually loses in several of the games included.
		Plaskett covers many different lines throughout the Scandinavian complex of openings, from the classical Qxd5 lines through to the modern Nxd5 and the Icelandic Gambit and Portuguese Variation.
		There is plenty of material here for a disciple of the Scandinavian such as myself, and Plaskett's engaging and chatty style holds your attention nicely.

		I disctinctly recall him reading out "James Plaskett from Tamworth - hello James." Your name was one of about 5 names - and the only one which he followed with a personal hello (as though he knew the listener).
		So, is there a James Plaskett from Tamworth whose name was announced on national radio, whilst a different James Plaskett has a book published by Tamworth Press on the subject of coincidences.
		If it is the coincidence route - it is also strange that James Plaskett was the only name that Dr Fox acknowledged (with the "hello James").
