The PURPORTED Descent of Thomas Sim(m)s
This document is an effort to set forth the descent from the Somerset, England, Symes (Sims) family--believed by a number of genealogists to be the most probable ancestors of Thomas Sim(m)s of Culpeper.
The Symes family in Somerset was documented as early as 1623 in the Visitation of Somerset, and that Symes pedigree was published in 1876 in Harleian Society Publications, volume XI, 4 p.
That leaves Andrew Sims of Accomac as a possible ancestor of Robert of Accomac, Thomas of Northampton and Somerset, Walter of Somerset, Northumberland and Old Rappahannock, and William of Richmond County.
