Walding was born in Rushden in Northamptonshire, England, and was educated at Wellingborough Grammar School.
In the Manitoba provincial election of 1969, Walding was a candidate for the NDP in the south-central Winnipeg riding of St. Vital, losing to Progressive Conservative Jack Hardy by 23 votes in a close three-way race.
Walding's defection caused the NDP to be defeated in the legislature, and they also lost the election which followed (Walding was not a candidate).

James, born before 1776, perhaps the James Warwik who was in the Third Company detached from the Northampton County Regiment in the War of 1812 [N.C. Adjutant General, Muster Rolls of the War of 1812, 20].

JAMES C. At the opening in 1889, James C. Anderson, who had previously been a hardworking farmer in Illinois, came to the territory and secured a homestead near El Reno.
James C. Anderson has been an influential though hardly what would be called an active member of the Democratic party, having been at one time proposed in convention for the office of county commissioner.
She was a daughter of Hosea Walding, of Tennessee, a prominent millwright who erected many of the old style mills there, and in an early day moved to Texas and became one of the early pioneers of Houston county.
