  James Wyatt - LoveToKnow 1911
JAMES WYATT (1746-1813), English architect, was born at Burton Constable in Staffordshire on the 3rd of August 1746.
During this earlier period Wyatt shared the prevailing contempt for Gothic architecture; thus the New Buildings at Magdalen College, Oxford, designed by him, formed part of a scheme, the plans for which are extant, which involved the demolition of the famous medieval quadrangle and cloisters.
None the less, Wyatt must be regarded as the pioneer of the "Gothic revival," while his general influence may be gauged by the fact that nearly every county and large town in England possesses or possessed buildings by him.

James Wyatt - architect of Gaddesden Place
He was obviously influenced by the classical architecture that surrounded him in Rome, and on his return to England in about 1766 and proceeded to become one of the most famous, some would say infamous, architects of his day.
Wyatt believed, like his contemporary Robert Adam, that an architect's job involved the whole building, interior and exterior, down to the most minute detail.
However he must be regarded as the pioneer of the "Gothic revival" and was certainly a prolific and hugely influential architect of his time.

James: Oriental Adventures includes the old Chinese-inspired dragons (originally introduced in the 1st edition ADandD Fiend Folio, expanded in the 1st edition ADandD Oriental Adventures, and reproduced in the 2nd edition ADandD Kara-Tur Monstrous Compendium).
James: Both the original Oriental Adventures and Legend of the Five Rings are pretty heavily skewed toward Japanese influences.

James (Jim) Wyatt was born September 8th 1907, in the old Boulton house on the south side of the Sheep River, 2 miles north of the town of Aldersyde.
Jim, along with Grant MacEwan and Lorne Stout, was instrumental in forming the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada in 1954 and I believe that Jim Wyatt did more in Canada for the Appaloosa horse than any other person during his time - he supported the Appaloosa all his life.
Jim Wyatt was the first to be inducted into the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada Hall of Fame in 1993 and it is only fitting that six years later in 1999, his stallion Speckel Boy joined him in this honor.
