Crescent was a row of terrace houses situated by the side of the river, near to a bridge which connected Alexandria to Bonhill and Jamestown.
My name is Charles Whittaker Roberton and I was born on 4th October 1922 at 16 Crescent, Alexandria, Vale of Leven, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.
The Vale of Leven takes its name from the fast flowing River Leven which flows from Loch Lomond and weaves a torturous path before joining the Clyde at Dumbarton.
