  EC places 34 political parties on notice -DAWN - National; 16 September, 2004
The National Alliance, the Millat Party (now a component of Pakistan Muslim League) and the National People's Party are included in the list of parties which would be barred if they failed to provide the required documents.
The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the commission held to scrutinize the statements of accounts submitted by 59 political parties.
The statements of account of 11 political parties were found to be not audited by a chartered accountant as required under the law.
