The TV and video series will be produced in association with Electric Entertainment, a Toronto production company which turns out such popular television programs as Jane Hawtin Live, Doctor On Call and Linehan.

Producer Jane Hawtin heard about the NYAP program and thought it would fit into the series.
Hawtin said the teens who appear on the series are usually gung-ho to talk in front of the camera, but the Inuit students were "a bit quieter." For Hawtin, one of the most rewarding aspects of the project was watching the students gain the self-confidence to express themselves and teach others about their culture.

Fellow interviewer and broadcaster Jane Hawtin said celebrities knew that Linehan actually cared about them, that he took enough time to find out about their lives so he could ask interesting questions.
In 1989, Linehan was suffering burnout from years of globetrotting and took some time off to recharge his batteries.
Then in 1996 he did a one-shot TV host gig, filling in for an ailing Hawtin, and that led to a fall special and then to Linehan, a 1997 interview series for WIC, the now-defunct western-based broadcaster.
