Janet was the wife of Benny Frank Mertens, M.D. They lived on a 90-acre farm with a 25-acre front yard arboretum, pond with many fish and a wildlife sanctuary on Winchester Road, between Circleville and Ashville, Ohio, 25 miles south of Columbus, Ohio, USA.
Janet was preceded in death by her father, Edward Thomas Perry Sr., JSD (Doctor of Juridical Science; an attorney with a doctorate in law), in 1958 when Janet was 10.
Janet was cremated, as she requested, and her ashes are spread in our yard beside Allie Cat, her flower gardens, woods and east field by her bench where she studied our constellations.
