Janet Waldo was a star of radio in the mid-'40s (at age 23) in the role of Corliss Archer, a typical American teenager.
Waldo became identified for another generation (or two) as the voice of the quintessential teenage girl Judy Jetson on the prime-time cartoon show The Jetsons.
Waldo took on the role, and has been known to a generation of baby boomer cartoon fans as Judy Jetson ever since, even returning to the role for later episodes of the series shot in the ensuing decades.

On an interesting note, according to the commentary by Janet Waldo, many of these episodes have extended scenes not shown in the original broadcast (although probably shown in reruns).
There is also a small interview with Janet Waldo, the voice of Judy Jetson (and tragically the only cast member still alive after the passing of Jean Vander Pyl last year) where she talks about the process of recording the voices.
At many points during the episodes, Janet remains silent and she even admits she gets sucked right into the episodes and forgets to talk.

The vast catalog of animated creations from William Hanna and Joseph Barbera really became staples to anyone growing up from the late 1950s well into the late 1970s.
Disc 1 contains a pair of commentaries from Janet Waldo, who did the voice of Judy Jetson, with the tracks recorded for the first two episodes (Rosie the Robot and A Date with Jet Screamer).
Waldo sounds like a sincerely nice person, and her comments tend to all be very positive and upbeat, with nothing especially revealing (not that I was actually expecting any, mind you).

He was among a distinguished cast on the cartoon — as well as Janet Waldo reprising her role as Penelope, there’s a certain Mel Blanc to be found among the credits, playing various minor parts.
Featuring actors Janet Waldo and Gary Owens (who speaks in exactly the same way as he does on the series), designer Iawo Takamoto and two former members of HB Scott Awley and Scott Jeralds, these are nicely nostalgic.
Although there is some burbling to found there (we get lots of "We love this show," particularly from Waldo), there are some interesting anecdotes to be had, particularly about Paul Lynde who was apparently, to use that old expression, a bit of a character.

They include talent files, separate interviews with Casey Kasem (a treat, because he demonstrates a little Shaggy for you), Janet Waldo, Alan Young and Ronnie Schell, plus one with producer Jameson Brewer.
One episode features Waldo, Young and Schell on a commentary track, which is an affable but not overly informative listen.
