When Janet was a young girl of 12 or 13, she made five or ten oil paintings on odd scraps of plywood.
Janet argued that she was not an oil painter and did not intend to become one; her friend bought paints and a canvas, handed them to Janet and informed her that she was going to make him a picture anyhow.
