 Introduction of Yeongam County
Yeongam County belonged to Mahan before the period of the Three Kingdoms and after the period of the Three Kingdoms, it belonged to Baekje, called, "Wolna".
Yeongam County borders on Muan County to the West, Jangheung County and Hwasun County to the East, Hanam County and Gangjin County to the South, and Hampyeong County and Naju to the North.
Yeongam County is composed of 11 eup and myeons, 121 ris (divided by Law), and 327 ris (divided by administration).

Gangjin is bordered on the west by Haenam county, to the north by Yeongam, to the east by Jangheung, and to the south by Gangjin Bay and, ultimately, the islands of Wando county.
Gangjin would not become its own county until 1895, so consequently during the Shilla and Goryeo dynasties it was part of Yangmu-gun and Dogang-gun, respectively.
In 1936, Gangjin-myeon became Gangjin-eup, and by 1990 the county had absorbed parts of Haenam county until it reached its present size [1].

The county bird is the magpie, which is fl with white trim near its shoulders, and a blue-fl tail.
There is also a gray bird I saw on Sunday, with white on its shoulders and a sky blue stripe on its tail.

I just resurrected the post after searching for Naju, and seeing that Jangheung was in the "Yes" column.
I should have mentioned "yes" to Gurye county as it's not far from where I am (borders the provinces) and ideal for those who like hiking (gateway to Jiri National Park).
So, to recap, for beaches and islands and coastal jaunts Jangheung is nice, for hiking Gurye.
