		Janick Robert Gers was born in Hartlepool on January 27, 1957.
		And when Bruce began work on his first solo album, 'Tattooed Millionaire', in 1990, it was to Janick he turned for help after being blown away by Marillion singer Fish's first solo album, 'Vigil In The Wilderness Of Mirrors', on which Janick co-wrote 'View From The Hill', one of the album's most affecting tracks.
		Although Janick joined too late to take part in much of the writing for the 'No Prayer For The Dying' album, he did have one song on there that would become one of their most notorious songs ever, the delightfully disrespectful, 'Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter'.

		The guitarist who fired a new energy and rawness into the band during the 90's, Janick Gers was the bands joint main guitarist of almost the entire last decade.
		Janick is a superb user of the guitars tremolo (lever), and has given it some truly manic abuse over the years.
		As well as the rampant Maiden songs Janick has contributed to (Be Quick Or Be Dead, Man On The Edge etc.) Gers is a bit of a smoothie on the slower moments.

		Janick Robert Gers (aka 'Jan') was born on January 27th 1957 in Hartlepool (it's in the North East of England).
		Janick was invited down to see Marillion at Wembley and in the end he, Bruce Dickinson and our very own Nicko had joined them on stage, playing some Marillion songs and covers like 'All The Young Dudes'.
		Janick has always been friends with the members of Maiden, he often played football with them.
