Wurts often runs away with her adjectives and metaphors to the deep end; so you may end up reading similies which are good for a laugh but extremely annoying in the context.
Overall, I prefer Wurts because she is a better writer and tells a more compelling story IMO, though both are by no means bad writers.
Wurts is by no means a bad author, but you miht like to start off with The Empire Trilogy or whatever it is called, co-written with Rymond Feist.
