To join the January Jujubes in their Yahoo egroup, you will need to send an email listing your DTC Date (Documents to China), your agency, the age of child requested and a little information about who you are.
With what started as a tongue in cheek suggestion, the January Jujubes stuck (no pun intended) as a name for our group.
The 'Western' Jujube is known as the sweet treat that is colorful and lends a playful quality that we think we as a group have.

I have also been told that the IRS has approved Chapter 54 as a 501(c)(3) corporation, so we will be able to send out tax deductible donation receipts to our donors for their 2001 tax returns.
These are great results and in January I expect to work with the treasurer to get receipts out and with others to establish a fitting tribute in the clubhouse to those who made the building possible.

Although there is no danger of collision with it, astronomers say that its proximity reminds us just how many objects there are in space that could strike our planet with devastating consequences.
Astronomers also add that it is "potentially hazardous", meaning there is a slim chance that it may strike the Earth sometime in the future.
As it approached the Earth, it was observed by the Klet Observatory in the Czech Republic by astronomers Jana Ticha and Milos Tichy, who tracked it on 5 January.

 Antarctic Ice Shelf Collapses, March 2002
Recent Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) satellite imagery analyzed at the University of Colorado's National Snow and Ice Data Center revealed that the northern section of the Larsen B ice shelf, a large floating ice mass on the eastern side of the Antarctic Peninsula, has shattered and separated from the continent.
The area lost by the shelf was was almost solely the region covered by melt ponds in late January.
The timing of the event, at the end of a particularly warm summer, is consistent with the theory.
